Publishing is more than saving a Word file. A book can contain structural, image, caption, table, metadata, navigation or output problems that only become visible during conversion or retailer review. GetBookReady adds a controlled Pre-Flight, author-confirmed structure, QA and evidence-based Ready Gate before handover.

Not yet. GetBookReady is in controlled beta / invited V2 UAT. Starter, Author Pro and Studio limits and the displayed USD amounts are proposed plan bands being validated during Books 2 and 3 UAT. Public subscription billing and checkout are not enabled yet, and final pricing may change after beta reliability and support requirements are understood.

KDP accepts several manuscript formats and Kindle Create can prepare books. Direct upload can work for simple manuscripts. GetBookReady is intended for authors who want a separate preparation and quality-assurance layer—especially where headings, navigation, long manuscripts, figures, tables, captions and repeatable series workflows matter.

Self-publishing means you or your publishing business control the publication process instead of transferring the whole process to a traditional publisher. You normally control the manuscript, cover, price, metadata, chosen retailers and release timing, while each platform applies its own technical, commercial and content rules.

Self-publishing platforms generally allow authors to retain rights to their work, but the exact licence and commercial terms differ by provider. Royalties also depend on the platform, territory, price, format, printing costs and other conditions. Always review the current official agreement before publishing.

An ISBN is an International Standard Book Number used to identify a specific book edition and format. Paperback, hardcover and other editions may require separate identifiers. Some platforms can provide an ISBN for print editions, while authors or publishers may prefer to obtain their own depending on their publishing strategy and country.

Not always. Some major retailers can publish an eBook using their own internal identifier, while other distribution workflows may use or require an ISBN. The correct choice depends on where you plan to distribute and whether you want to control the publishing imprint and identifiers yourself.

Metadata is the information that describes and helps sell or discover the book: title, subtitle, author/contributors, description, language, categories, keywords, publication details, identifiers and pricing. GetBookReady V2 separates book-specific metadata from reusable series/author information and records the reviewed metadata in the publishing evidence.

Publishing preparation is the work between the final edited manuscript and retailer submission. It includes semantic structure, figures/tables, eBook/print generation, previews, technical and visual checks, metadata, identifiers, final evidence and assembling the approved publishing package. GetBookReady focuses on this preparation and assurance stage.

GetBookReady can run manuscript Pre-Flight, detect and confirm publishing structure, prepare EPUB and supported print outputs, track figures/tables, provide element-specific QA, record metadata/series profiles, produce an explainable Ready Score, freeze immutable approved runs and generate provider-specific handover checklists.

GetBookReady does not guarantee that a retailer will approve a book, guarantee sales or bestseller ranking, replace professional legal/tax/copyright advice, promise a fixed royalty, log into your publisher account or make the final pricing/territory/royalty/AI-disclosure/Publish decision for you.

A practical sequence is: finish writing and editing; upload the structured manuscript; run Pre-Flight; confirm the detected book structure; resolve figures/tables; prepare outputs; inspect element QA and previews; review metadata and publishing targets; pass the Ready Gate; freeze the approved package; then use the selected provider's final preview/proof, disclosure/commercial settings and Publish action.

The V2 plan design includes one AI-assisted front-cover concept request per calendar month, with up to three original layout directions. It is a creative starting point, not an automatic final print wrap. Public paid subscriptions are not yet enabled during UAT. The author must confirm title/author text, image/font rights, final dimensions, spine, back cover, barcode/ISBN needs and the publishing provider's current specifications.

The AI Agent is designed to answer publishing questions in English and major Asian languages, including Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia/Melayu, Filipino/Tagalog, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and Tamil. Language quality and manuscript-format support can vary by script and book complexity, so final exported files should still be visually checked.

GetBookReady registers numbered figures/tables as QA objects, tracks status and replacement assets, checks intended output occurrence, records dimensions/DPI metadata where available and supports alt text. For complex tables, V2 can record whether the author intends to preserve an accessible structured table or use an optimized visual. Caption treatment can also avoid repeating a title already built into artwork.

Each Pre-Flight/preparation cycle has an identifiable Run ID. V2 records source checksum, canonical structure identity, engine/build information and run history; older completed preparation runs can be shown as SUPERSEDED. Once the author approves a final run, its publishing package is frozen rather than silently regenerated.

There is no single best provider. GetBookReady can attach one or more target handover profiles to an approved project, while the author remains responsible for the provider account, current specifications, commercial settings and final publication.

No. Where a retailer asks about AI-generated content, the author or publisher must answer the provider's current questionnaire accurately. GetBookReady can include a handover reminder and preparation evidence, but it does not log in to KDP or submit the disclosure on your behalf.

Royalty is not one universal percentage. Price bands, taxes, delivery or printing costs, wholesale discounts, retailer commissions and territories can change the final amount. GetBookReady explains the structure and links to provider resources, but you should confirm the current provider calculator and terms before setting a price.

A reflowable eBook adapts to screen size and reader settings, so semantic structure and navigation matter more than fixed page numbers. Paperback and hardcover use fixed print layouts where trim, margins, bleed, images, page count and final cover/spine requirements matter. GetBookReady records preparation/handover evidence, but the publishing provider's final proof and cover specifications remain authoritative.

AI can assist with explanations, publishing guidance and creative cover directions, but authors remain responsible for accuracy, originality, permissions, provider disclosure requirements and the final manuscript. GetBookReady's AI is positioned as a guided assistant/checker, not a substitute for author judgment or professional editing when required.
